Nevada Veterans Advocate Training in Elko


The Nevada Department of Veterans Services will be hosting a FREE 2-day workshop in Elko for training to become a Nevada Veterans Advocate (NVA). An NVA is a trained volunteer who assists veterans and their families to help connect them to earned benefits, resources and programs.  Many veterans have earned benefits and don’t even know it! NVA’s can assist veterans, active duty military, guard/reserves and family members of those listed.


The workshop will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21, 2018, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. each day.  It will be held at the Red Lion, 2065 Idaho Street, Elko, Nevada. Folks may register by calling 775-321-4708 or emailing

Continental breakfast, afternoon snacks/beverages are served both days. Travel reimbursement may be available to those who qualify. (Must be traveling more than 75 miles from the event.) All travel requests must be pre-approved.
